Cheney Library News

January 4, 2013 By eastwickpress

Come one, come all! There will be a January Clearance Sale at the Cheney Library in Hoosick Falls on January 5 between 8 am and 1 pm. All hardcover books will cost just 50 cents, and all paperbacks and children’s books will cost only 25 cents. Be sure to arrive early to get the best books; remember “The early bird gets the worm!”
The Cheney Library is located on Classic Street in the Village of Hoosick Falls. Our phone number is 518-686-9401, and the hours at the Library are Monday, Wednesday and Thursday 1 to 8 pm, Tuesday 10 am to 5 pm, Friday 11 am to 4 pm and Saturday 8 am to 1 pm.
E-Reader Workshop
Did you get a Kindle, Nook or iPad over the holidays? An employee of the Upper Hudson Library System will come to our Library on Wednesday, January 9, at 7 pm to help with any questions about use and downloading of free eBooks from the Library. Sometimes we just need a little help with a new device to truly enjoy and understand it. So don’t be shy; every question is a good question. Also, if you are considering purchasing one of these items, this will be a good chance to gain familiarity. Snow date will be January 10.

Two Exciting Raffles

You can win 4 VIP Suite tickets to the January 19, 7:30 pm, Advanced Auto Parts Monster Jam, which even includes one parking pass, or you might be the lucky winner of 4 tickets to see The Harlem Globetrotters 2013 World Tour on Saturday, February 3, at 1 pm. A parking pass is not included in this package. Both events take place in the Times Union Center in Albany.
Tickets are available at the Cheney Library; one ticket costs $1 or you can buy six tickets for $5.
The first raffle will run well  into January (exact final date to be announced), and the second raffle will go to the end of January (again final date to be announced).
Great family fun awaits – don’t miss out on this chance!
