The North Hoosick Fire Department Installation Banquet on January 12 was one of the best in quite some time, showing appreciation to the people who help us out day in and day out. Many thanks to Jean’s Place for catering the buffet dinner. Appreciation to Rev. Michael Benoit for his involvement and to our mechanic Steve Bonesteel. [private]We showed appreciation to all of our members for their years of service and their involvement in our Kids’ Dances. We played a slide show with music in tribute to the late Butch Conway. After the slide show, we presented his wife Louise with a plaque with his shield on it stating his DOB, date joined, date of death and the titles he held while in the Department. There were a lot of teary eyes in the audience. Special thanks goes to Leo Surdam for serving as MC for the third year in a row – a super job as always, Leo. Thank you to Deputy Paul Davendonis for swearing in our 2013 Department line officers and Department officers and to Sue Stradinger for swearing in our Fire Police. It was a great meal with great company. Thanks to all who attended.
