Barbara A. Brown

Stephentown – Barbara A. Brown, 58, passed away on Tuesday, January 29, 2013, at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield, MA, after a long, courageous battle with cancer.
ob-BarbaraBrownBorn March 30, 1954, in Pittsfield, MA, she was the daughter of Barbara Peterson and the late Clarence Peterson Sr. Barbara was a 1972 graduate of Berlin (NY) Central High School. She married Joseph Brown on August 5, 1972. Barbara worked with her husband at the F.N. Brown Insurance Agency in Stephentown, NY. She also operated her own bakery business, Brown’s Country Bakery, and was also employed by W.C. Sykes Store in Stephentown. Barbara enjoyed gardening, crocheting and spending time with her family.
Barbara leaves behind her loving husband, Joseph Brown, her two daughters, Dena and husband Jason Duval and Laurie and husband Kevin Stockwell, three grandchildren, Diana and Rachel Stockwell and Kyle Duval, her mother, Barbara Peterson, her two brothers, Dwight Peterson and Clarence and his wife Barbara Peterson Jr., one sister, Pamela and her husband Paul Engel, and one sister-in-law, Mary Lou Brown, along with many nieces and nephews. She is pre-deceased by her father, Clarence Peterson Sr.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 2, at 2 pm in the Hall & Higgins Funeral Home, 457 NY 43, Stephentown. Burial will follow in the Stephentown Cemetery. There will be a visitation hour in the funeral home starting at 1 pm.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Stephentown Rescue Squad in care of the funeral home, P.O. Box 9, Stephentown, NY, 12168.
