Kathryn Bingham Page

February 8, 2013 By eastwickpress

Hoosick Falls – Kathryn Bingham Page, formerly of Palermo, NY, passed away on Thursday, January 31, 2013, at Crescent Manor Care Centers in Bennington, VT, following a long illness. She was born on June 30, 1946.
She leaves behind her sister, Dianne Bingham Stevens of Hoosick Falls, NY, and her two sons, Jon Page and his wife Angie and their two sons, Brandon and Taylor, of Middleburg, FL, and Chris Page and his wife Amy and their five sons from Louisville, KY. She also leaves behind her five cherished cousins from Massachusetts.
ob-pageBefore her illness Kathryn was employed at Oswego County BOCES as a senior typist. She grew up in North Hoosick, NY, the daughter of the late Marjorie and Alfred Bingham, and attended St. Lawrence University.
The ocean, the mountains and the sound of bagpipes were three things that Kathryn adored.  She also enjoyed needlework and gardening, but her greatest love was music and singing. Kathryn had an incredible soprano voice and sang in the North Hoosick Methodist choir, which her father directed, for several years. While in college, she joined the a cappella singing group, The Laurentian Singers, and sang two beautiful solos on one of the albums/CDs they recorded. Later on, when she came home to North Hoosick to visit, one of her most enjoyable pastimes was standing by the old, oak piano in the living room and singing hymns with her alto-singing sister and her booming bass-voiced Dad while her Mom sat on the couch doing her crossword puzzles.
And now Kathryn is singing once again – with the angels in Heaven.
A memorial service will be held for Kathryn this spring. The day and time will be announced at a later date. Donations in her memory may be made to the Save The Manatee Club, 500 North Maitland Avenue, Maitland, FL, 32751. Arrangements are under the direction of the Thomas M. Barber Funeral Home of Petersburgh, NY.
