News From Sand Lake Center For The Arts

Camp Logan
Soul Rebel Performance Troupe Inc. (SRPT) will perform a dramatic presentation of Camp Logan on Friday, February 22, at 7:30 pm and Saturday, February 23, at 2 pm.  This drama is based on the 1917 court martials and ensuing executions of 19 black soldiers of the 24th Infantry, United States Army, Houston, Texas. It is written by Celeste Bedford-Walker and directed/produced by Jean-Remy Monnay.
Camp Logan received the NAACP award for best play in 1994.  The production will be held at the Sand Lake Center for the Arts, 2880 NY 43, Averill Park.  Tickets cost $10, and reservations can be made at 518-674-2007 or at www.slca-ctp.org.
Brian Melick Concert
Rensselaer County is home to some amazing musicians whose talent takes them across the country and around the world. Sand Lake Center for the Arts is pleased to present some of them to you at this very special concert which is the vision of our friend, Brian Melick. Join Brian and two wonderful musicians, Elizabeth Woodbury Kasius and Mike Dimin, as they weave their musical magic to benefit the Sand Lake Center for the Arts on Saturday, February 23, at 8 pm.  Tickets cost $20.  Reservations can be made at 518-674-2007 or at www.slca-ctp.org.  The SLCA is located at 2880 NY 43, Averill Park. The Cafe will be open and there is plenty of free parking.
