A Public Hearing On Sidewalks And The Eminent Domain Procedure In New Lebanon

New Lebanon Town Clerk Colleen Teal reports that in accordance the New York State Eminent Domain Procedure Law, a public hearing for the Route 22 Sidewalks Project in the Town of New Lebanon will be held on March 12 at 6:30 pm at the Town Hall, 14755 NY Route 22, New Lebanon.
[private]The purpose of this hearing is to outline the project purpose, its proposed location and to provide other pertinent information, including maps and property descriptions of the properties to be acquired and adjacent parcels. The project proposes to improve pedestrian and bicycle connectivity and safety through the Route 20/22 corridor by constructing a sidewalk from Lovers Lane to the New Lebanon Junior/Senior High School. The project is considering three alternatives, some of which also include changes to the overall pavement width and lane configurations available for vehicular travel. Pavement width and lane configuration changes are proposed from the western intersection with NY Route 22 to the eastern intersection with NY Route 22.
Copies of the Draft Design Report are available for public examination and copying during business hours at the Town Hall and the New Lebanon Library, 550 State Route 20, New Lebanon.
Persons may appear in person or by agent and will be given the opportunity to present oral or written statements and to submit other documents concerning the Route 22 Sidewalks Project. Any property owners who may subsequently wish to challenge the condemnation of their property by judicial review may do so only on the basis of issues, facts and objections raised at the hearing.[/private]
