Berlin Boys Volleyball Ends Its Season In Sectionals

March 1, 2013 By eastwickpress

submitted by Paul Slaver
Coach Paul Slaver said that while this year’s team had a lot of ups and downs, they were able to stick together and play as a team. This led to their season record of 7-5 overall which put them in second place in the Central Hudson Valley League.
As a result, Berlin hosted Greenville in the first round of Class C sectional play on Tuesday, February 26. After a rough start in the first game Berlin was able to play strong and make a sound effort. But it just wasn’t enough to win against Greenville. Greenville won all three games 11-25, 23-25 and 18-25 to win the match.
Season personal bests on the team come from senior Dan von Schilgen, who finished the season with over 100 assists, and senior Sakan Sadowsky, who finished with over 100 points and 115 kills. Coach Slaver wished his four seniors – Sakan, Dan, Connor Brown and Reid Rascoe the best of luck in the future.
