Harriet Hannon

Berlin – Harriet Gorton McCumber Hannon, of Urbanna VA, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on February 19, 2013. Born on December 14, 1935, in Bronxville, NY, Harriet was the daughter of Paul and Bridget (McGrath) Gorton.
ob-HannonHarriet lived the majority of her life in Berlin, NY, retiring to Virginia. She worked at the Berlin Free Library, the Cornell Cooperative Extension and as a teacher’s aide for the Berlin Central School District. She was a long-time member of the United Methodist Church in Berlin and the Harmony Grove Baptist Church in Locust Hill, VA.
Harriet is pre-deceased by her husbands, Noel McCumber and Steven Hannon. She is survived by her daughters, Anne Hutchins and husband Steve, Cindy Jones, Laura Longton and her husband Joseph, Kelly Freihofer and her husband Michael, Julie Grenier and Jennifer Bates and her husband Ernie, her one son, Joesph Beidl and wife Erin, her sister, Claire, her three brothers, Marty, Leonard and Grover, and her 13 grandchildren and her one great-grandchild.
Calling hours were from 4 to 7 pm at the First Baptist Church, 680 South Street, Hoosick, NY, on Friday, February 22, and a memorial service was held at the same location on Saturday, February 23, at 11 am. Pastor Dale Hall and Pastor Pam (Hannon) Bolton officiated.
