The Panther Bowlers End Season

March 8, 2013 By eastwickpress

 submitted by Bob Lang
After the Hoosick Falls bowling team won the Section II C-D bowling tournament with a score of 5,822 pins, the Panthers had to wait until the seventeen A schools and twenty B schools bowled to see if they would have the highest overall total and go on and bowl at the New York State Bowling Tournament in Syracuse on March 2.  On Tuesday, February 12, the A teams bowled very well with seven schools beating the 5,822 pin total that Hoosick Falls posted. Colonie led the way with a great total of 6,514 pins. On Wednesday, February 13, three B schools beat the Hoosick Falls score, led by Mohonasen with a total of 6,183 pins. Hoosick Falls still finished a respectable 11th place out of the total of 63 A, B and C-D schools that competed in the Section II Bowling Tournament.
At the Section II C-D tournament, Ken Marbot of Hoosick Falls, had the high 6 game total of 1,317 and had to wait to see if he could make the Section II sectional team which is made up of the highest 6 game totals of the bowlers who were not on the winning team, Colonie. Marbot finished in seventh place by just 14 pins and is the alternate in case one of the six who made the team can’t go for some reason.  “This was a great accomplishment for Ken who is just a tenth-grader; he still has two more years to make the team. If he continues to work as hard the next two years as he did this year, I’m sure that he will be going to the State Bowling Tournament in the next few years,” said Coach Lang.
