Hoosick fire fighters responded to a  traffic accident just south of HFCS Sunday morning. Beginning at about 10 am, the accident closed Route 22 for three hours. [private]A New York registered compact Hyundai automobile traveling north crossed the center line into the southbound lane hitting a Dodge pickup truck. The Connecticut registered pickup was pulling a full size camper. The collision sheared the camper off its frame, leaving the frame in the road and the camper body sitting on the guardrail. The driver of the car received minor injuries, and the driver of the pickup was unhurt. The camper broke a telephone pole, which had to be replaced.
Another Accident On Route 7
According to a Rensselaer County Sheriff  Department’s press release, a 911 call was placed from the McDonald’s on Rt. 7 in Brunswick at 5:25 reporting a reckless driver reported to be westbound. While Rensselaer County Deputies were checking Rt. 7 a report came in for a one vehicle accident near the Raymertown Garage. Deputies responded and found a 2010 Hyundai Elantra off the roadway in a ditch.
The driver, Collette Hoag, 25, of Hoosick had to be extracted from the vehicle. She is eight months pregnant. The passengers, Thomas Dalliard of Colonie, Domenic Thane and Rebecca Silver of Bennington, were all taken to Albany Medical Center. All were listed in critical condition. What caused the vehicle to leave the roadway remains under investigation.
