April 19, 2013 By eastwickpress

Petersburgh/Hoosick Falls – Lucille (ne’e Lucia) Virginia Collier, 99, passed away on Monday, April 8, 2013, at the Danforth Adult Care Center in Hoosick Falls, NY, where she had lived since February 2009. A resident of Petersburgh, NY, from 1975 until 2009, Lucille was the wife of the late Eugene Collier, who died in 1989. She is pre-deceased by her three brothers, Anthony, Angelo and Albert Incani.
Born on May 3, 1914, in Hoboken, NJ, Lucille was the daughter of Michael and Gabriela Incani. While working as a secretary during the day, Lucille pursued a passion for painting and drawing by attending night classes at the Grand Central Art School in NYC during the 1930s. It is there that she met and fell in love with Eugene Collier, a fellow student. When the Second World War broke out Eugene was drafted and sent to North Africa where he served his country from 1943 until 1945. When he returned home, Eugene and Lucille were married on September 26, 1945.
Survivors include her son, Michael and daughter-in-law Lynne Anderson of Canaan, NY, her devoted niece and nephew, Jane and Peter Curran of Barnegat, NJ., her loving granddaughter Rachel Collier and great-grandson, Roman.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Community Hospice of Rensselaer County.
The family also wishes to express its deep appreciation to the management and staff of the Danforth Adult Care Center for the tremendous love, care and support they extended to Lucille throughout her stay with them.
