Theresa Sica

Stephentown – Theresa Sica, 77, of Route 22, Stephentown, NY, died suddenly at her residence of natural causes on Sunday, April 14, 2013.
Born in Brooklyn, NY, on April 16, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Frances Chippone DeSetto. She was the loving wife of the late John J. Sica, who died on December 10, 1995. They were married in Brooklyn on February 2, 1958. She had been a full time resident of Stephentown since 1993 and was of the Roman Catholic faith. A very religious person, Terry collected Native American artifacts. She ran a little knick-knack shop at her home called “3G’s” (think good, feel good, do good). She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who devoted her life to her family and to her God.
Survivors include her daughters, Deborah Sica, and Brian Carney, of New Ashford, MA, and Patricia and husband Dean Stangas of Islip Terrace, NY, and a grandson, Michael D’Amico Jr. of Long Island, NY.
A Liturgy of Christian Death and Burial will be celebrated by Rev. John Close on Friday, April 19, at 1 pm in St. Joseph’s Church, Route 43, Stephentown. Cremation will follow.
Relatives and friends are invited to visitation at the Hall & Higgins Funeral Home, 457 NY 43, Stephentown, on Friday from 10 am to 12:30 pm.
Memorial contributions may be made to either the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (where a child is never denied), 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105, or to the Eleanor Sonsini Animal Shelter, 63 Downing Parkway, Pittsfield, MA, 01201, in loving memory of Theresa Sica.
