Gerald Alan Bornt

Hoosick Falls – Gerald Alan Bornt, aka Turtle, of Hoosick Falls, NY, passed away on May 9, 2013, at the age of 81 at the Bennington Health and Rehabilitation Center in Bennington, VT. At his request no services will be held.
ob-borntMr. Bornt was born November 13, 1932, in Hoosick Falls to Howard, Sr. and Eva (Monroe) Bornt. He received his education in Hoosick Falls and worked many years there with Allied Signal, Oak Materials and Dodge Industries.
He was an active member of various organizations: the North Hoosick Fire Department, Eagles, Derby Club and Hoosick Falls Rescue Squad. He was an avid New York Yankees fan and enjoyed bowling and Old Timers baseball games.
He married Jean Stroffoleno in 1973, and lived in Tavares, FL, from 1994 until 2008 at which time they returned to Hoosick Falls. Although they divorced in 1997, they remained lifelong friends.
He is survived by his ex-wife, Jean Day, three step-sons, Mark, Scott and Wm. Bruce Stroffoleno, eight step-grandchildren, two great-step-granddaughters and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his step-son, Dale Stroffoleno, his sister, Ardith Bender, an infant sister, Juanita, and his brothers, Malcolm, Basil, Howard, Jr. and Ronald.
