The Panthers softball team faced three opponents this week. Last Thursday, the Ladies faced Schuylerville at home. On Monday the team traveled to Hoosic Valley, and on Wednesday Greenwich paid a visit to HFCS.
In the Schuylerville game, the Panthers never got their footing. The Schuylerville Black Horses raced past the Ladies to a 12-1 win. Frankie Pearson had 2 hits for the Panthers.
Facing Hoosic Valley, the Panthers fell behind in the first inning and could never catch up. The end result was a 11-4 defeat. Carsen Williams and Chelsea Stevens each had three hits; Frankie Pearson had two.
On the Greenwich visit to HFCS, the Panthers faced a 2-1 deficit at the bottom of the second inning. By the end of the third inning, the Witches had plated two more for a 4-1 lead. In the top of the sixth inning, the Witches blew the game wide open with 5 runs coming across the plate. Greenwich put one more across in the seventh to head back home with a 10-1 win.
This week the Panther softball team faces Cambridge on Tuesday, May 7, (4:15 pm).
