Impressive, creative, imaginative – those are just a few of the words to describe the items at the HAYC3 Hoosical Furnishings Exhibit and Auction Saturday evening, May 11, at the Armory. Fifty-two artists, one nine years old, created an assortment of artistic pieces to satisfy any taste. Some gave new life to old pieces. Others created something brand new.

The evening began with a reception and a welcome by HAYC3 President Michael Baker. Well known and revered auctioneer Ron Siefert kept the bidding going at a lively pace. Some people, caught up in the moment, spent hundreds of dollars on several pieces. All spent, of course, for a good cause. Last year the event was Hoosical Chairs, and it raised $20,000 for HAYC3. This year, Director Aelish Nealon said the organization made out better financially than they did last year!
Community support was outstanding. There were sponsors for each piece created by the artists, individual contributions and, of course, the folks who brightened the evening by purchasing the art work.
It was a fun night for a good cause.
