Brad Humphrey, owner of the End of the Trail motorcycle parts and service shop in Stephentown, was injured on Sunday afternoon, April 28, in Pittsfield in a hit and run accident. [private]According to Pittsfield Police Captain John Mullin, Humphrey’s motorcycle was struck at about 4:30 pm at the corner of Linden and John Streets by what is believed to be a Jeep Grand Cherokee. The driver of the Jeep left the scene, and Humphrey was transported to Berkshire Medical Center. He has since been released.
Mullin said the Pittsfield Police have the rear bumper and rear taillight from the Jeep. The accident is still under investigation, and police have been searching for a Jeep that might be missing those parts.
Humphrey has been a major organizer of the annual Ryan & Courtney Memorial Motorcycle Run that raises scholarship funds in memory of Ryan Gardner and Courtney Carelli who were killed in a tragic accident in 2004.[/private]
