The Berlin Free Town Library is pleased to host an exhibit of works by artist Melissa Rubin from May 11 through June 8.
Melissa, daughter of local residents Bob and Helane Rubin, is a visual artist and art educator currently living and working in Rockaway Beach, New York City. A practicing artist for over 25 years, she has traveled extensively in the United States and Europe and had the opportunity to visit Japan on a Fulbright Fellowship. Her work has been used on film sets, been shown in several group and solo exhibitions and is in the permanent collection of the Encaustic Art Institute in New Mexico, as well as private collections in the United States and Europe. Most recently, her work was included in the exhibition “After Affects: An exhibition of Work by Artists Affected by Hurricane Sandy,” organized by the New York Foundation for the Arts. She was featured on CBS This Morning and in ARTnews Magazine in connection with this exhibition.
