The Petersburgh Fire Department held its Annual Installation Dinner in a new venue this year, at the Hoosick Falls Country Club. Although the surroundings were new, the faces were familiar.[private]Fire Department officers are the same as last year. Bill Seel continues as Chief and Nathan Michaels as Assistant Chief. The trio of Captains – Earl Brock, James Morgan and Mike Lindsey, remains in place. Safety Officers are Randy Harrison and Dick Snyder. Captain of Fire Police is Charlie Carr, and Lieutenant of Fire Police is Siegfried Krahforst. Katie Fiske continues as Secretary and Martin Conboy as Treasurer.
Fire Auxiliary Officers are Maureen Seel, President, Karina Michaels, Vice President, Nina Morgan, Secretary, and Barb Snyder, Treasurer.

After the swearing in, Bill Seel presented awards. He gave a special award to former Chief and Chairman of the Fire District

Commissioners Terry Neaton, because Terry attended 100% of the Department’s calls in 2012.
Cheyenne Seel attended the most drills, followed by Tasha Michaels. and Mike Harrison. Charlie Carr attended the most calls, followed by Paul Smith. and Ben Krahforst.
Seel presented Charlie Carr with his 30 year service pin.
Chief Seel said the volume of calls this year had been smaller than usual, but they did fight some big fires this year. In addition to the major fire at the Votra house, Seel mentioned a chimney fire that made its way into the attic of the house where firefighters were able to knock it down. He called this “a great stop.”

Food for the banquet was provided by Jeff Babson and his crew, and it was quite a feast. Music was provided, as in previous years, by DJ John McEnerney, and the Benediction was given by the Fire Department Chaplain Walt Knightes.
