The Hoosick Falls Panthers were back at their home field for a league game against the Cambridge Indians on Tuesday, May 7, when a scary incident occurred. [private]The Indians were up 2-0 in the fifth inning when Panther catcher Logan Brogue was hit in the side of the neck by a pitched ball. The ball went to the backstop where Logan grabbed it and threw the ball back to the pitcher Josh Brogue. But Logan’s condition worsened immediately; the senior was
unable to stand and fell to the ground repeatedly. The Town of Hoosick Rescue Squad and the Bennington Advanced Life Support unit responded and rushed him to the hospital.
Josh Brogue had taken the mound for Falls for a much needed win against the Indians. The accident gave the Panther’s a new drive, and they went on to win the game for Logan 6-4.
The Panthers were fresh off the Bo Baker Tournament at Fort Plain where they broke their four game losing streak with an upset win against Fort Plain 13-1. Brandon Hodges was on the mound. The team then went to Cooperstown for an overnight trip before returning home.
The next two games, a make up on Wednesday at Cambridge and a home game Thursday against Tamarac, will be played depending on the weather and field conditions.
