The 28th Annual Lions Club Road Race

May 24, 2013 By eastwickpress

by Bea Peterson
Saturday, May 18, was a perfect day for a run. The weather was just right, there were more runners than in the last few years and there were plenty of folks along the sidelines directing traffic and watching out for the runners.
The Lions Club crew was in top notch form, and the race went off without a visible hitch. After times were tallied, trophies and medals were presented to the overall top male and female finishers, Hoosick top finishers and first and second place finishers in each age group.

The Fun Run had an added bonus this year. Monument Urology in Bennington and Team Tinkham of Prudential Real Estate donated $50 to the boy and girl with the fastest time in each age group. Dr. Andrew Cowder presented the first award to his son in the under five age group. Other winners received their prizes from either Rick Tinkham or Dr. Cowder. The prizes brought more participants to the Fun Run this year.
