The Fourth Annual Taste of Hoosick

May 3, 2013 By eastwickpress

The fourth Annual Taste of Hoosick, on Sunday, May 5, from 3 to 6 pm at St. Mary’s Academy, showcases eighteen of the top restaurants and caterers in the area to give the public the opportunity to taste specialty items from each of them and the opportunity to vote for their favorite taste.
[private]This year Taste of Hoosick is very excited to once again bring fine music to St. Mary’s stage – The Stardusters, under the direction of Bill Gaillard, at 3 pm, the inspirational tones of the Word of Life Singers from Schroon Lake, NY, at 4 pm and the talent of Bill Brown on piano and Martha von Schilgen on violin at 5 pm.
The popular Silent Auction promises to have something for everyone! Pet lover? Look for one of several baskets for that pampered pet. Bid on native hand crafted hardwood from Custom Woodcraft, a Bouquet of the Month three month package from Parisi Designs & Co., Elva’s pickle assortment and Marion’s fudge for gifts or indulging, Iva’s quilted spring runner, Capri’s Dot’s goat soap basket or a cake for a special occasion. Choose items from Bloom ‘N’ Art, Potter Hill Barn, The Lamp Shop, McNeilly’s, Hoosick True Value, Tractor Supply and others. Keep warm with Davis coal. Gardening?  Special Breakfast?  Looking for a new “do,” household goods and services, a huge variety of gift certificates? Auto tune-ups are a  must for spring. Get a framed still life or custom stationery by Deb Alter and much more. Don’t go away empty handed!
Tickets for the Taste cost $12.50 before the event or $15 at the door for adults, $10 for children age 6-12 and are free for children 5 and under.  Tickets are available at Thorpe’s Pharmacy, the Immaculate Conception Office, St. Mary’s Academy, HACA Food Pantry or Jazz Band Director, Bill Brown.
All proceeds from the event will go to the HACA Food Pantry. Pantry volunteers will be on hand to accept food donations and to discussing volunteer opportunities.[/private]
