Flying High In Hoosick

June 21, 2013 By eastwickpress

by Bea Peterson
On June 15 and 16 the Aeromodelers Flying Club held its Annual Air Show at Strawberry Acres on Route 67 in Buskirk. All weekend model planes dipped, swooped, dove and stood on end while the pilots handled the controls from the ground. The maneuvers were impressive. So were the models themselves. The Club will be holding more shows this summer at its field at 2625 Rt. 67 in Buskirk.

Dan Reed of Pittsfield, MA, puts his Ultimate 10-300 aerobatic sport biplane through its paces at the Aeromodelers Flying Club Annual Air Show Sunday. The plane is 46 percent size with a 170 cc engine. Reed built the craft from used parts. A plane such as this model costs $6,000. (Bea Peterson photo)
