Emil Baker, owner of the Big Moose Deli and Country Store on Route 7, appeared before the Town of Hoosick Planning Board for a second time on Monday, June 18. Baker has acquired the house and property next door to his store. He said the house will be used for storage and the lot in the back and on the side of the house will be used for parking. A split rail fence will define the parking area. The expanded area can hold 20 vehicles.
[private]Baker had previously stated he wanted the property changed from residential use to commercial. There will be no physical changes to the structure and no new lighting at the site. The front of the house will remain the same.
At this meeting he showed the Board specific plans for green space, plantings and parking. There will be handicapped parking. Baker said his goal is to have no parking on the roadway. The Board reviewed the environmental specifications and the overall plan and found no issues with the change or the site plan.
Cell Tower Improvements
Maryanne Terry of Site Acquisition for AT&T approached the Board regarding the installation of three new LTE antennas to the tower on Wilson Hill Road. Terry said the LTEs will be beneficial to the Town and its customers and provide easier and faster service.
Terry was advised that the Board needed a letter from AT&T stating she was representing them. Attorney Denis King pointed out to her the guidelines outlined in the Town’s local law regarding cell towers. The Board accepted her outdated application form but will expect more information from her at its next meeting. Terry said she had tried several times but had been unable to get the necessary information from the Town Clerk’s office.
A Public Hearing on the cell tower changes will be held at 7 pm on Monday, July 15, followed by the regular Planning Board meeting.
Hanselman Boundary Adjustment
Bill Hanselman recused himself from the Board and approached the Board regarding a boundary line adjustment on his father’s property on Bovie Hill Road. Edward Hanselman appeared before the Board several months ago for a family subdivision. There was a problem with a property line as the well of Hanselman’s neighbor, Ruth McGuire, is on Hanselman property. An agreement was worked out. The plan was to move the McGuire boundary 10 feet into the Hanselman property. The Board approved the boundary line adjustment and suggested that the property deed indicate the small piece was part of the larger piece of McGuire property so that it could never be sold separately.[/private]
