Hoosick Planning Board Action – May 2013

June 7, 2013 By eastwickpress

by Bea Peterson
The Town of Hoosick Planning Board met on Monday, May 20.
Cipperly Road
The Board approved a gifted family subdivision to Keith Cipperly of 2.5 acres on Cipperly Road in Hoosick.

The Board approved a gifted 3.1 acre family subdivision at 443 Wilson Hill Road to Cindy and Michael Madison. They first appeared before the Board in April.
Site Plan Conference For Big Moose
Emil Baker, owner of the Big Moose Deli and Country Store on Route 7, has acquired the house and property next door to the Deli. He said the house will be used for storage and the lot in the back and on the side of the house will be used for parking. A split rail fence will define the parking area. The expanded area can hold 20 vehicles. Baker would like the property changed from residential use to commercial. There will be no physical changes to the structure and no new lighting at the site. The front of the house will remain the same. The plot map shows landscaping and parking. Baker will return to the Board next month with answers to specific Board requests.
Property Line Adjustments
Stanley Rimkunas requested a  property line adjustment of 5.7 acres of his property. This was a preliminary conference, and he will return to the Board next month.
Surveyor Brian Holbritter, representing Garrett and Kelly Brown, requested a boundary line change to four acres of property at the intersection of Pine Valley and Clay Hill Roads. The change was approved.
Walloomsac Metal Recycling
Paul Miller addressed the Board on behalf of William Brownell and Walloomsac Metal Recycling in Walloomsac, located at the old Bennington Paperboard facility. Miller was requesting approval for trucks of recycled metal to be loaded at the Vermont Railroad spur which runs next to the Metal Recycling facility. The railroad refurbished the line last spring. Miller said no permit is needed from the railroad for the stop. It was thought perhaps this was an issue for the Building Inspector or the Zoning Board and not the Planning Board.[/private]
