Donald R. Lohnes

Hoosick Falls – Donald R. Lohnes, 82, passed away July 1, 2013, in Canon City, CO. Born June 16, 1931, in Bennington, VT, he was the son of  Harold and Marion (Webster) Lohnes. Donald was a long time resident of Hoosick Falls, NY, before moving to Colorado. ob-lohnes284For many years he enjoyed bowling, trapping, racing motorcycles, watching NASCAR and collecting coins. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his children, Wanda and her husband Jim Duval of Canon City, Norma and her husband Ralph Cipperly of Hoosick Falls, Rick Lohnes and his wife Cindy of Virginia Beach, VA, Donnie Lohnes of Canon City, Mary Ann Shaw of Canon City and Donna and her husband Dean Maxon of Berlin, NY, fourteen grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. He is also survived by his brother, Charles Lohnes of Canon City, and his longtime friend, Delores Babb, along with many cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Alvah Lohnes.
A memorial service was held on Friday, July 5, at the Holt Chapel of the Garden in Canon City. Burial will be in the Hoosick Rural Cemetery, Hoosick, NY, at the convenience of the family.
