Fr. Tom Zelker listened to a proclamation from Hoosick Falls Mayor David Borge, read by Deputy Mayor Ric DiDonato on Saturday afternoon in front of the Municipal Building. He rode in his special “Popemobile” that took him through Village streets as part of a grand parade that included marchers, bicyclists, cars, a tractor and hay wagon filled with people, an ambulance and a fire truck. The parade was just one part of the Immaculate Conception parish’s celebration of his 30 years in the priesthood. The Church was filled, including the choir loft, for Mass, followed by the parade. Afterward there was great music by the HFCS Jazz Band and the Brewsters, an abundance of fantastic food, a “Roast” of Fr. Tom and fun for everyone. Several hundred people attended the gathering.
