Local High School Juniors Receive Recognition For Math And Science Achievement

Kaitlyn Goodermote of Berlin and Libby Cass of Stephentown were chosen to receive the New York State Capital District Society of Women Engineers’ 2013 Certificate of Merit for achievement in math, science and technology.

They received their certificates along with a cash scholarship at a dinner in June honoring high school eleventh grade young women across the District, all chosen to receive the award. The featured speaker, Seena Drapala, Electronics Global Commodity Leader for General Electric, challenged the recipients to embrace this achievement and think about how they will impact the world using their special talents.
Kaitlyn and Libby were nominated by faculty at their respective high schools, Berlin Middle/High School and Tech Valley High School.
