Hoosick Falls Police Chief Robert Ashe reports that the Hoosick Falls Village Board has agreed to 24 hour coverage on Thursday as well as Friday and Saturday.
The results of this decision paid off when the police arrested Jason Gardner, age 39, residing at 52 High Street. [private]He was arrested Friday morning, July 12, at 3:30 am as a result of a report alleging domestic violence. “It got very violent, and he attempted to choke her,” Chief Ashe wrote in an email. “She was able to get away and call 911.” Gardner was arrested at the scene and charged with Criminal Obstruction of Breathing and Criminal Contempt. He was arraigned and remanded to the Rensselaer County Jail in lieu of $2,500 cash bail. “If we were not on patrol, we would of not been able to get there so quickly,” Ashe wrote.
Ashe also reported the arrest of a 16 year old on July 12 for Burglary and Petit Larceny as the result of an investigation of a burglary at the Hoosick Falls Country Club that occurred on June 21 at about 1:30 am. Allegedly, the subject entered the Club and took 11 bottles of liquor. Ashe wrote, “We followed up numerous leads which led us to him.” He was arraigned and released to his parents.[/private]
