A Heavenly Quilt Raffle

August 2, 2013 By eastwickpress

submitted by Donna Mullet
The ladies of the Heavenly Quilters have assembled two raffle quilts and are ready to sell tickets to win one of them. The monies received will be donated to “Quilts for Kids,” and the drawings will be held at the Heavenly Quilters meeting on October 8.
Members finish and raffle off a quilt nearly every year, and funds have been donated to many organizations here in Stephentown, along with other charitable organizations in New York and nearby Massachusetts.
The recipient this year, “Quilts for Kids,” is a non-profit organization founded in Pennsylvania in 2000.  Since its founding, over 100,000 quilts have been made and distributed worldwide.  The Albany  New York Chapter has delivered over 40  quilts so far this year to the Center for Children’s Cancer at Albany Medical Center, with these quilts coming from the Heavenly Quilters of Stephentown.
Tickets can be obtained from any member of the Heavenly Quilters or by calling 733-5278.  Tickets will also be available at the next Texas Hold’em in Stephentown.
