Leah Jo Hyde and Christopher Eli Bush were united in marriage on May 18, 2013. The 1:30 pm country wedding took place at Higher Ground Farm, owned by Eric and Jamie Ziehm, in West Hoosick, NY.
As the groom and his best man, Jeremie Younger, walked down the hill between the horses, the bride’s party emerged from the horse barn and made its way down the aisle between the seats made of bales of hay.
The wedding party included groomsmen Nick Langenback, Ryan Snell, Alex Buckley, Justin Newton and Lawrence Nolan. They wore tan western shirts with bolo ties, black jeans, western hats and boots. The bridesmaids were Kelly Bush (sister of the groom), Sarah Jensen, Kendra Wilson, Emily Embree and Brittany Bush (niece of the groom). The girls wore short teal dresses and western boots. Each carried a bouquet of country flowers, arranged by The Garden Shop in Cambridge NY.

The Matron of Honor was Jackie Houran, sister of the bride. She also wore a teal dress, western boots and carried her country flowers arranged in a cowboy boot.
The ring bearer, Josiah, wore chaps and western attire and carried a rope lasso. The flower girl, Lauren Sussee, looked sweet in her western wear and pink chaps. She carried a basket of country flowers.
The bride, wearing a beautiful full princess wedding gown from David’s Bridal, with her cowboy boots underneath, also carrying a boot filled with country flowers, was escorted down the aisle of hay bales, by her father, Art Hyde.
The Reverend Marybeth Hutchins performed the civil ceremony, as guests gathered around and the horses ran in the background.
Music for the ceremony was provided by vocalist Krissy Fauler and Wayne Wilson on guitar. The songs they performed were “He’s Mine,” “Just A Kiss” and “Mama’s Song.”
A country reception followed at the firehouse in Rupert, VT. The wonderful buffet meal was provided by Kelly and her crew from Sherman’s General Store. Beautiful flower arrangements in Jack Daniel’s bottles, made by the groom’s mom, Misty Bush, decorated the tables. Bandanas of teal and brown, perfectly folded by the bride’s aunt, Jenn Hyde, were used as napkins. Photography for the occasion was provided by Ian Crietz of Cambridge, NY. John Wooddell, also of Cambridge, was the DJ. The perfect horseshoe shaped wedding cakes were made by the groom’s sister, Tanya Clark.
Leah Jo Hyde Bush is the daughter of Art and Sandy Hyde of Hoosick Falls and the granddaughter of Harold and Marion Sheldon and Art and Joann Hyde also of Hoosick Falls. Christopher Eli Bush is the son of Kurt and Misty Bush of Cambridge and also the son of Mrs. Muriel Brusso and her husband, George, of Hartford, NY.
At a later date, the happy couple plan to take a honeymoon trip out west to Oklahoma and Montana. They currently reside at their new home on Route 22 in North Hoosick.
