Salvatore Gabriele

Hoosick Falls – Salvatore “Sal” Gabriele, 51, passed away on Friday, August 2, 2013, at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington, VT. He had resided with his wife Sandee (Kulcsar) Gabriele on First Street in Hoosick Falls, NY.
Born on September 14, 1961, in Port Chester, NY, Sal was the son of Gail Fox and the late Salvatore Gabriele Sr. He was raised by his loving grandparents Lucy and Luigi Conte. He attended schools in Port Chester. Sal formerly owned and operated Sal’s Auto Electronic on Route 7 in Hoosick, NY. He also was property manager for Lester Goodermote. Sal would always help people and wanted to make a difference for children. He enjoyed the time he spent with family, especially his grandchildren.
Survivors, other than his wife Sandee, include his daughters, Amber Sherman and husband Chris of Bennington and Rebecca Zoller and husband Josh of Hoosick Falls, his sisters, Lillian Fowler of Bennington and Lisa Gabriele of Bridgeport, CT, his grandchildren, Meghan and Nolan Sherman and Damien Thieverge, and many beloved neices and nephews.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, August 7, at 5 pm from the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main Street, Hoosick Falls, NY, 12090. Relatives and friends called at the funeral home on Wednesday from 3 to 5 pm. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
Memorial contributions may be made to Northeast District Neurofibromatosis Type 1, through the funeral home or directly to NF Northeast, 9 Bedford Street, Burlington, MA, 01803.
