Upcoming Events At The Stephentown Memorial Library

August 9, 2013 By eastwickpress

Don’t miss the excitement at SML. Bring the whole family.
• Story Time – Wednesdays at 10 am. Calling all young children (and their caregivers)! Join us each Wednesday for some story time fun! In this half-hour session, we read aloud, sing songs, move about and explore the world around us through literature. Parents and children are encouraged to stay after story time so children have time for free play while grown-ups browse for books and socialize. Story Time is led by Jane Halleck, a retired local educator.
• Free Daily Lunch for Kids. We are pleased to have been chosen again as a feeding site through this federally funded lunch program. We will be serving a healthy bag lunch each weekday from 12 to 1 pm in the community room. There is no charge and no income or residency requirement. All children under age 18 are encouraged to take advantage of this program. Children under 12 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. The program will run until August 16, Monday through Friday.
• Nature Study Acrylic Painting classes. All skill levels are welcome – open to ages 12 and above. Four classes will meet every Monday in August from 6:30 to 8:30 pm at the Stephentown Memorial Library. Classes are open to walk in’s at $20 per class. This class is taught by a local artist and Rhode Island School of Design alum. A portion of the fees charged will be donated to the Library to support its programs.
• Lost & Found. The Library has an extensive collection of Lost & Found items that includes keys, flash drives, gloves, hats, coats and more. Please stop by and claim your missing items soon. Remaining items will be donated to a local charity at the end of the month.
For more information on any of these programs or to register for programs, call the Stephentown Memorial Library at 733-5750 or stop by during our Library hours. Also check our website, www.stephentownlibrary.org, for regular updates.
