BCS Girls Soccer Takes Second At The New Lebanon Tournament

September 13, 2013 By eastwickpress

submitted by Fleda Berschwinger, Girls Soccer Coach
The Berlin Girls varsity soccer team took second place in the New Lebanon Tournament last weekend. In the first game against St. Joe’s of Pittsfield the Lady Mountaineers dominated possession and had many scoring opportunities finally breaking through with a goal by Jewel Pietrzk in the first half. Pietrzk added another goal late in the second half to make the final score 2-0. The defense had an outstanding game not allowing any shots on goal!
In the championship game the girls battled Mt. Everett in a very even match. Mt. Everett was able to get a goal in the second half which proved to be the game winner. It was a great start to the season, and the girls are looking forward to starting league play.
