The Cheney Library in Hoosick Falls finished the 2013 New York State Summer Reading program. Twenty children recorded the amount of time they spent reading this summer for a total of 16,536 minutes. There were eight programs in which the children participated, including one presented by the Tang Museum from Skidmore College.

At the ice cream party the children selected books and received prizes as rewards for the great job they did in reading. Throughout the summer there were weekly book prize drawings, and the children also earned Cheney Cash which they could spend at the Monthly Book Sale.
The LOUSH award this year went to David Allen. The award stands for Libraries Offer Unexpected Summer Happiness and is a present by Bernice Rosenberg in honor of her brother. David has been enjoying his new bike immensely.
