Corner Creations & More was a hive of activity this past weekend, as there was an art and antiques sale for the Columbus Day weekend as well as musical performances by seven different groups throughout the weekend. A nice collection of art and antiques was on display all weekend. [private]Matthew McKeeby, known as “The Berlin Limner,” had a group of paintings on display, and two local jewelers, Dina Cuomo of

Elektra Jewelry and Tami Whitmore of Tami’s Treasures, had their wares on display as did the Grafton quilting group and a number of other artists. An extensive collection of antiques were available for sale. There was steady, if light, traffic throughout the weekend. The goods on display will remain there for a week. There will be a big sale on Saturday, October 19, from 8 am to 6 pm. Many of the items will be discounted in an effort to sell as much as possible before taking the displays down on Sunday.
The weekend music festival began Friday evening with singer-songwriter Ryan Thomas Legere. Saturday afternoon Floyd Smith, a 92 year old banjo player from Petersburgh, took the stage. Saturday night Jody Samascott, a singer-songwriter from Kinderhook, played original music and covers with a ukelele accompaniment.
Sunday afternoon a local rock band called Nice Try Kid played outdoors on Main Street, and Sunday night Alannah Fitzgerald played solo on the charming little stage set up in the display window of Corner Creations and More, mostly songs from the Celtic tradition.
Monday afternoon Tune Traveler played classic tunes from the Jazz Age, and the finale was a fine performance by Karen Webster & Friends,

who play an eclectic mix of traditional music with roots in rural American music, Celtic music and church music, including original songs written by Karen Webster. The quartet consists of Webster on keyboards, Martha von Schilgen on strings, Leslie Green on oboe and Dan Lamontagne on percussion.
Following their performance, the drawing was held for the grand prize of the raffle that was held all weekend. The prize was a beautifully crafted bird bath donated by Adam Ross Cut Stone. The winning ticket belonged to Don Hebert of Johnsonville.
The weekend’s activities were organized by Billie Curry, in collaboration with Corner Creations owner Cheryl Thibodeau.
