Catch Classic Sci-Fi Films At The New Lebanon Library

October 11, 2013 By eastwickpress

October is scary movie month and the New Lebanon Library invites film buffs to enjoy a series of classic Sci-fi films at the Library. All screenings, which are free and open to the public, will begin at 6:30 pm.
The series will commence on Thursday, October 17, with the 1933 film King Kong, the tale of the giant ape starring Fay Wray, which was ranked by the American Film Institute as among the 50 best films of the 20th century.
On Thursday, October 24, the Library will screen 1958’s B-movie masterpiece The Blob, starring Steve McQueen, which melds ’50s schlock sci-fi with teen delinquency pictures even as it transcends these genres with strong performances and ingenious special effects.
The series will conclude on Thursday, October 31, with Creature from the Black Lagoon, starring Richard Carlson and Julie Adams, the 1954 classic about a strange prehistoric beast lurking in the Amazon.
The New Lebanon Library is located at 550 State Route 20, ¼ mile north of the yellow blinking light at the intersection of Routes 20/22.
