Events At The Stephentown Memorial Library

October 11, 2013 By eastwickpress

• International Observe the Moon Night.- Join the fun on Saturday, October 12, at 6:30 pm. Bring the whole family and learn about the moon. Kids are invited to wear pajamas and enjoy moon related stories, make a lunar map out of Oreos and howl at the moon outside. Moon pies and juice will be served inside, and then we’ll head out to view the moon. Dress warmly and bring binoculars or telescopes, lawn chairs, flashlights and bug repellent. We will have binoculars on a tripod set up for all to share. We hope to have some experts join us to help us as we view the moon. In the event of bad weather, we’ll just keep the party inside.
• Teen Read Week – We’re celebrating Teen Read Week at the Library this week, October 13 – 19. The main theme for Teen Read Week is “Read For The Fun Of It,” and the 2013 subtheme is “Seek the Unknown at Your Library.”
• Halloween Howls Party – Young children and families are invited to the Library on Saturday, October 26, at 2:30 pm for our annual Halloween Party. Join us for spooky stories, crafts, games, seasonal refreshments and watch a family friendly Halloween movie. Wear your costumes for a costume parade around the Library!
• Family Movie Night – Enjoy a showing of the recently released family film, Monsters University, on Friday, November 1, at 6:30 pm. This fun family film is a prequel to the beloved Monsters, Inc. This movie is rated G. Popcorn and drinks will be served. This event is free, and the public is welcome!

For more information, call the Stephentown Memorial Library at 733-5750 or check www.stephentownlibrary.org for regular updates.
