Field Hockey Crushes Granville, 7 – 0

In Sectional play the number one seeded Panther girls field hockey team met the Granville Golden Horde Wednesday afternoon for the third time this season. The Horde was seeded eighth. For the third time this season, the Panthers beat them easily.
The Panthers had a 4 – 0 lead eight minutes into the game and started to freely substitute. By halftime, the Panthers had six goals. Maddy Ryan, Brooke Davendonis, Liz Ryan, Ally Burdick, Caytlyn Springer, Carsen Williams and Olivia Schneider all scored one goal each. Liz Ryan had three assists and her sister Maddy had two. The win brought the Panthers season record to 17 – 0.
Freshman Liz Ryan broke the all time season scoring record with goal number 24. The record was held by her coach, Denise Campbell (1990) and Samantha Skott (2009). Congratulations, Liz.
The Panthers will play the winner of the Warrensburg/Corinth game. The game will be on the HFCS field Wednesday, October 30, at 3 pm. The sectional championship game is scheduled for Sunday, November 3, at Schuylerville.
