The 120Gallery90 at The Armory in Hoosick Falls is proud to present a new exhibition featuring Recent Prints by Bennington printmaker Alexandra Eckhardt and new work by the Hoosick Artist Guild.
Eckhardt is the Design Director and full time artist at the Engraved Papers Collections for Cartier, North America. She has also worked with Cartier for many years as an engraving specialist.

Focusing her attention on developing techniques for works on paper, she creates her personal work in her print studio in North Bennington. The inspiration for this work is drawn from personal experience. The subjects of the work in this show range from bell towers to woods and trees to views framed by barn windows and crevasses. Light, shadow and texture combine with strong compositional elements to create dramatic and exquisitely detailed lithographs and intaglio prints.
Eckhardt grew up in the engraving world and attributes her love of the medium and her expertise to her father, John Black, Master Engraver, with whom she still works. She has studied and apprenticed with many masters in print and engraving technique and has extensive experience in traditional intaglio, dry point, etching, aquatint, lithography, letterpress and woodcut techniques. She is a master of monogram, lettering and heraldry design and has an interest in illuminated manuscripts and the decorative arts.
For the Artist Guild exhibition, local artists have interpreted the theme “Falling” in unique ways, creating triptychs on wood panels using traditional art materials and things found in nature. Artists in this exhibition include Aaron Buzzinski, Renee Trombley, Debbie Baker, Megan Walraed, Debra Mahar, Ramon McMillan and Deb Alter.
Meet the artists at the Opening Reception on Friday, October 11, from 6 to 8 pm downstairs at The Armory, 80 Church Street in Hoosick Falls. Tune Travelers will be performing live Jazz Age classics in The Owls Nest at 7 pm. The Armory is now handicap accessible.
