by Bea Peterson

All the absentee ballots have been counted by the Board of Elections. Final vote totals for Hoosick Town Council are David Sutton 1,036, Jeffrey Wysocki 1,034, Michael Hickey 1,006 and Joyce Brewer 948.

[private]The final vote total for Highway Superintendent was William Shiland 1,057 and Louis Schmigel 990.

Supervisor absentee ballots are not included as there were not enough votes to change the election outcome.

A Test In January

In January Mark Surdam will be Hoosick Town Supervisor, and the Board will consist of Sutton, Wysocki and Bruce Patire. At that time Surdam’s Council seat will be vacant and someone must be appointed to replace him for one year. The new Board will be tested immediately to see how well they work together when they select that replacement.[/private]
