Hoosick Falls World War II veterans were honored Saturday in a special program and lunch at the Armory presented by the Hoosick Falls Voice of a Vet task force. [private]The motorcade from the Hoosick Falls Community Alliance Church to the Armory was led by the Patriot Guard Riders of New York. A gigantic flag fluttered in the wind from the Hoosick Falls Fire Department ladder truck as the veterans, with the Guard Riders, entered the Armory to the sound of bagpipes. The moving ceremony included Congressman Chris Gibson’s representative and Veteran George Christian, NYS Senator Kathy Marchione, Rensselaer County Executive Kathy Jimino, County Legislators Lester Goodermote and Stanley Brownell, Hoosick Town Supervisor Keith Cipperly and Hoosick Falls Mayor David Borge. All of the veterans attending, and family members of deceased veterans received certificates of remembrance from the County for their service.
