In Berlin the only real contest was for Town Council. Republican Incumbent John Winn garnered the most votes in a three way race and won re-election. Democrat Stephen Riccardi, with 232 votes, will replace Republican incumbent Richard deLeon who received 178 votes.
[private]Riccardi said, “I would like to thank everyone who supported me. I hope that I may be able to contribute to make Berlin a much greater town to live in than it already is.”
Republican Patrick Soroka sought a seat on the Board of Assessors but received only 21% of the votes compared with 39% attained by each of the Democratic incumbent Assessors, Patty Baretsky and Stanley Pettibone II.
Robert Jaeger, Anne Maxon, Jim Winn, Donald Sweet and Pam DeShane, all running unopposed, will return to their posts of Town Supervisor, Town Clerk, Highway Superintendent, Town Justice and Tax Collector respectively.[/private]
