Steven James Bell

Berlin – Steven James Bell, 38, died Sunday, November 17, 2013.  Born in Troy, NY, on August 30, 1975, he was the son of Evelyn Fields of Troy and the late James Bell.  He was the foster son of Stacy Carreau of Bennington, VT, and David Carreau of New Jersey.  Steve was raised in Berlin, NY, and educated in Berlin schools.  He was a carpenter his whole life and was employed by Madsen Construction, HosCot Builders in Hoosick, NY, Fairdale Farms in Bennington and by Carpenter’s Local 291 in Albany, NY.  He was presently employed by Henderson Johnson Construction based in Syracuse, NY.

ob-bell.jpegSteve was very proud of his children and his shop and garage.  He also was a great mechanic and loved working on his cars, four wheeling and snowmobiling.  He built his own home and was a hard worker.

He is the beloved husband of Annette M. Buck Bell, the devoted father of Jeremy C. Bell and Ally of Troy, Kyle S. Bell and Daniel J. Bell, both of Hoosick Falls, NY, and Chelsy L. Bell of Berlin, the dear brother of Brent Carreau of Cherry Plain, NY, Terry Fields of Troy, Kevin Bell of Mechanicville, NY, Carla Teta of Lansingburgh, NY, David and Kerry Carreau, both of New Jersey, and Chris Carreau of Berlin. He is the former husband of Lisa Cooney Bell of Hoosick Falls.  He was waiting for the birth of his first grandson, who will be named Tanner.  He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and friends.

Relatives and friends may call at the Thomas M. Barber Funeral Home, 66 Armsby Road, Petersburgh, NY, on Thursday from 5 to 7 pm.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Make A Wish Foundation, 1 Mustang Drive, Cohoes, NY,  12047, or to the Ronald McDonald House, 139 South Lake Avenue, Albany, NY,  12208, would be appreciated.
