Schyler Haita, a resident of Stephentown and a Senior at Grace Christian School in Bennington, VT, was part of a team with the Ugandan Water Project (UWP) this past summer. The team travelled to Uganda for two weeks to provide support in a variety of ways to communities that are in dire need of clean water. [private]The Ugandan Water Project is a non-profit organization that focuses on building relationships with the Ugandan people and providing rain water collection tanks to eliminate the fatal risks of contaminated water.

While there the team visited sites that have received the tanks, provided education on the value of clean water, fed street children and spent time playing games and forming bonds, visited schools, churches and communities to evaluate the needs for future sites and immersed themselves in the culture to better understand the plight of these wonderful people.
This trip ignited a passion in Schyler to be a small part in bringing clean water to a Ugandan Community through the funding of a tank. Schyler has chosen this funding effort as part of her Senior Project at Grace Christian School and is seeking others in this community to join in her effort.
If you are interested in learning more about the UWP please visit their website at http://ugandanwaterproject.com. Please consider making a donation toward the tank Schyler is working to fund. You may donate direct via this link – http://ugandanwaterproject.com/projects/schyler-haita/.
Any school, church or community organization may also consider funding a tank in its name and can also get information on how to do this via the UWP website.
