The Stardusters Christmas Concert

Hoosick Falls own “big band,” the Stardusters, will present its second annual Christmas Concert at the Community Alliance Church on Hill Road in Hoosick Falls. The concert will be held on Sunday, December 15, at 3 pm.

These concerts were initiated by Ken White a parishioner of the Community Church. The public is cordially invited to this wonderful program The Stardusters are managed by Bill Cottrell, solo cornetist and son of its founder Cortland Cottrell (d) and directed by Bill Gaillard, who originally started as tenor saxophonist with the band. Traditional carols and light holiday fare are arranged in swing band style adding a new flavor to holiday music.

The Stardusters perform many public programs annually including wedding receptions. Members of the band include Marj Rooen – percussionist, Tom Wood – bass, Don Pierce – piano, Doug Harrison, Doug Personette, Doug Sheldon and Ken White – trombonists, Bill Cottrell, Dave Harrison and Wayne Cornell – trumpeters. The saxophone players are Bruce Faller, Darrel Hollovach, Woody Strobeck, Dick Kuebler, John Helft and Mike Barrato.
