After tallying all the figures, Campground Owners of New York (CONY) recently announced that Broken Wheel Campground in Petersburgh, operated by Ruth Seel, raised $1,000 in donations for Camp Good Days and Special Times as part of CONY’s second annual statewide fundraising event for charity held throughout 2013.
[private]According to Suzanne Bixby, CONY’s Marketing and Communications Director, the association’s fundraising goal for 2013 was set at $50,000. “2013 was CONY’s 50th anniversary year as a trade association, so we felt that it would really fire our members up for this second year of fundraising with the rallying cry of ‘$50K in 50.’ Our hopes and expectations were definitely exceeded this year! We’re grateful to the support of our campgrounds who enthusiastically participate to help this worthy organization,” Bixby said.

With fundraising by CONY campgrounds from across New York State, a combined total of $53,700 in checks were presented by CONY leaders to Camp Good Days and Special Times PAVE Director James McCauley at a special ceremony on November 2, during CONY’s annual conference.
Camp Good Days and Special Times is a New York State-based organization providing camping experiences free of charge to children with cancer.
