Elaine Ogilvie

Lakeland/Hoosick Falls – Elaine Ogilvie, 85, peacefully went to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 3, 2013, at her residence in Lakeland, FL, surrounded by her family.

Elaine was born in Rochester, NY, on January 4, 1928, to the late John and Ethel Brennan. She later moved to Hoosick Falls, NY, and married her beloved husband, the late William Ogilvie, in 1952.

ob-ogilvie290The family moved to Lakeland in 1970, where she worked for the Florida Highway Patrol and Lakeland Regional Medical Center as an LPN until her retirement in 1987. Elaine enjoyed volunteering in the surgical waiting room at Lakeland Regional Medical Center until the age of 85. She also enjoyed crocheting her famous towels and watching NASCAR and Sunday football. She was a member of the Lakeland Regional Auxiliary, the Mall Walkers Club and St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. She had a deep devotion to her faith and her family.

Elaine is preceded in death by her sister, Joan Brennan, her brothers-in-law, Douglas and wife Florence Ogilvie and Leo McGuire.

Survivors include her five children, Patricia and husband Ryerson Mausert of Albany, NY, Joni and husband Tony Penn, William and wife Carrie Ogilvie, Rebecca and husband James Baker and David and wife Stacie Ogilvie, all of Lakeland, her grandchildren, Brian and wife Rachael, Stephen and Annie Mullen, Jessica Culbreath, Alex Penn, Daniel and wife Melissa Fallon, Jared Denz, Kerri, Justin, Aubrie and Dalton Ogilvie, Matthew and wife Jennifer and Ashley and Monica Clay, 13 great-grandchildren, a son-in-law, John Mullen, sisters-in-law, Isabel McGuire and Norma Petit, a brother-in-law, Richard and wife Sandra Ogilvie, and many nieces and nephews.

A Catholic Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, February 8, at 12 pm at the Immaculate Conception Church, 73 Main Street, Hoosick Falls. Interment to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Hoosick Falls.

Donations may be made to the Immaculate Conception Church.
