John E. Bostwick

North Adams – John E. Bostwick, 55, formerly of North Adams, MA, died Sunday, January 5, 2013, at Berkshire Medical Center. Born in Brattleboro, VT, on May 28, 1958, he was the son of the late Noble B. and Elizabeth Gove Bostwick. He was a 1976 graduate of McCann Tech High School in North Adams and attended Berkshire Community College in Pittsfield, MA. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps.

ob-bostwick.jpegJohn was employed by Arnold Print Works and Tervakoski Machine Shop in North Adams, J.L. Distributors in Pittsfield and Yasgur Farms in Rockhill, NY. He enjoyed playing billiards, fishing and playing softball, and he coached his son in youth football for the Adams Saints. Most of all, he loved all his kids and grandchildren.

John is the beloved husband of Laurie J. Frank Bostwick, loving father of Michael J. Bostwick of Adams, MA, the step-father of Nathan G. Abriel and Sara Lampro, Kevin D. Abriel and Charles “Chip” H. Abriel and Gina Drake, all of Pittsfield, the brother of Betty and husband Clarence Ritcher of Clarksburg, MA, and the late Clifford, Eugene and Charles Bostwick and Ralph Wheeler. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends may call at the Hall & Higgins Funeral Home, 457 NY Route 43, Stephentown, NY, on Thursday, January 9, from 4 to 6:30 pm, followed by a funeral service at 6:30 pm.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Eleanor Sonsini Animal Shelter, Downing Industrial Park, Pittsfield, MA, 01201.
