Lady Panthers Lose Friday, Win Wednesday

Last Friday evening, the Panther Ladies faced the 11 – 1 Tamarac Bengals in Brunswick. The Panthers stayed within striking distance in the first half, down by one, 24-23, at halftime. The Bengals pulled away after the break, outscoring the Panthers 28 – 16 in the second half.

The final score was 52 – 39.

Megan Flynn scored 13 points, and Kelly Pine added 12.

A Win vs. Schuylerville

The Ladies played the 1 – 10 Schuylerville Black Horses in the Panther Den. With Chelsea Stevens’ hot shooting, hitting four first half three-pointers, the Panthers jumped out to a 19 – 1 first quarter lead, extending that to 26 – 1 before taking a 37 – 9 halftime lead.  The Panthers cruised the rest of the way. Playing the entire team from mid-second quarter, the Panthers overwhelmed the Black Horses. The final score was 66 – 37.

Stevens ended the game with 22 points, all but one point coming on three-pointers. Carson Williams added 14.

The Ladies are now 8 – 3 overall and 6 – 3 in WASAREN League play.

Coming Up

This week’s schedule has the Ladies traveling to Greenwich on Friday, January 24, to play the 9 – 3 Witches. JV starts at 6 pm with varsity to follow. No other games are scheduled for the week.
