Colvin is the son of Melissa North Colvin and Craig Colvin. He was a 2011 graduate of Hoosick Falls Central School where he was a member of the football team. Colvin was a sophomore at Husson University in Bangor, ME, where he was studying environmental science. He was a linebacker on the University’s football team.

According to the HACY3 website, “The anticipated outpouring of support expected in response to the recent  passing of  21 year old Steve Colvin, a Hoosick Falls Central School graduate and sophomore at Husson University, has prompted HAYC3 to move this week’s Texas Hold’Em to the Youth Center so that the Armory can be used as a gathering space for the many who are grieving his loss.”
